How We Handled This DMAX Repair

- Full hub strip-down and thorough clean of the spindle and knuckle
- Inspection of the stub axle, seal surfaces, and ABS tone ring
- New tapered bearings and seals pressed in with the correct tooling
- Repacked with high-temperature wheel bearing grease
- Torqued to manufacturer spec and preload set correctly
Why Preload Matters
Getting the preload right is the difference between a bearing that lasts 150,000 km and one that fails in 15,000. Too tight and it overheats; too loose and it hammers itself apart. This is where the workshop manual and a proper torque procedure earn their keep.
