By engaging Romano’s Automotive for diagnostics, servicing, or repairs, you agree to the following Terms of Trade. These terms are designed to ensure transparency, outline expectations, and protect both parties throughout the repair process.
Payment Terms
- Full payment is required upon completion of work.
- Accepted payment methods: EFTPOS, credit card, bank transfer (must be cleared before vehicle release), and cash.
- Vehicles will not be released until payment is received in full.
- Late payments may incur interest, storage, and administrative fees.
Estimates & Pricing
- Quotes and estimates are based on information available at the time of booking and may change if additional faults or complications arise.
- Pricing may vary due to:
- Discovery of hidden faults or extra work required
- Previous modifications or aftermarket accessories
- Vehicle condition (e.g. rusted or seized bolts)
- Any pricing changes will be communicated and must be approved before we proceed with further work.
Diagnostic and Inspection Fees
- All diagnostic assessments and inspections are chargeable services.
- Charges apply regardless of whether the customer proceeds with repairs.
Special Order Parts
- Parts that are specially ordered or not normally stocked require full prepayment.
- These items are non-refundable once ordered unless the supplier allows return.
Customer-Supplied Parts Policy
Romano’s Automotive has a strict policy of not fitting customer-supplied parts. This policy is in place due to:
- Legal obligations under ACCC guidelines relating to part safety and fitment responsibility
- Increased risk of part failure, incompatibility, or voided warranties
- Quality control and liability concerns
We only install parts sourced by our workshop from trusted suppliers to ensure the best outcome and full warranty protection for you.
Vehicle Collection & Storage
- Vehicles must be collected within 48 hours of notification of job completion.
- After 48 hours, storage fees of $25 per day may apply.
- "Job completion" refers to the moment the customer is advised (via SMS, phone, or email) that the vehicle is ready.
Abandoned Vehicles (WA Law)
- If a vehicle remains uncollected after repeated contact attempts, it may be considered abandoned under the Motor Vehicle Repairers Act 2003 (WA).
- Romano’s Automotive reserves the right to recover costs by disposing of the vehicle, following due legal process.
- All outstanding balances, including storage, recovery, and administrative charges, may be added to your account.
Road Testing & Vehicle Registration
- Vehicles with registration plates will be assumed registered and roadworthy unless stated otherwise in writing.
- Customers must inform us at drop-off if their vehicle is unregistered or unsafe to drive.
- Vehicles may be road tested as part of our repair or diagnostic process unless advised otherwise.
Liability & Limitations
Romano’s Automotive is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss (e.g. towing costs, loss of income, transport inconvenience)
- Failure of unrelated or pre-existing components
- Damage resulting from previous repairs, modifications, or aftermarket accessories
Our liability is limited to services we directly supply unless gross negligence is clearly demonstrated.
